The One Named Jesus

When God was man and we could see
The love He gave for you and me
He was mocked hated and despised
His love was foreign to our eyes

The wicked said, now stop! Don't preach
It's we who must now preach and teach
But He denied the lies they taught
To give the bread the Father brought

Now Satan's men were angered when
They learned that Jesus would not bend
Then Satan gave his men a plan
By which he thought to bind this strong man

They took Him in the dead of night
To try Him when they had no right
When they approached He did not flee
This was the path to set man free

His life He gave upon the cross
He paid sins price it was the cost
Though Satan thought he'd won the fight
Twas Christ who'd have the final might

Three days and nights His body lay
In the tomb to decay
But on the fourth He did arise
The tomb would shake for He's alive

The Satan said what shall I do
The son of God has broken through
Yes He arose disciples say
To give new life and light mans way

:) What a lovely piece about Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given to man by which he can be saved...Except the name of Jesus. You brought Isaiah's words to light in a poem....He was despised and rejected. A man of sorrows, acquainted with grief...and with HIS stripes...we are healed.

Thanks for your insightful comments. I appreciate them very much. I wrote a trilogy of poems about Jesus a decade ago. The 2 you have reviewed are part of that trilogy. I reworked them before posting. I will be submitting the third one this weekend when I have time.
