The Old Vase

She’s an a elder and a widow She’s all alone in her old house Her kids have moved out long ago She stares at an old vase With stale water And a unique rose With withered petals But to her it's still the most beautiful sight Alexis Y. 6-29-17

Alexis, this is so beautifully melancholy and so wonderfully written. Such dramatic imagery of lonely sadness... an awesome write!

I hope the rose was from one of her children and it gave her so much pleasure even in its withered state - such a sad poem my friend:-( hugs Jan xx
