The Old Man

An aging old man Sits on the park bench As people walk by he says hi He sits there alone Feeding birds and such A Mourning Dove coo’s at his side The Pigeons all peck At their food on the ground As he throws bread all about He watches the kids as they play on the swings And he tries to figure it all out Where did the time go One day he was young And now the years have gone by He grew old so damn quick Seemed like over night And says my how the time it did fly

A lovely poem Ricky. I must give you a tip, I'm a bird nerd, I have three beloved pet doves and believe it would add to your poem; Morning Dove is a common mistake, it's actually a Mourning Dove, named so for it's mournful song. (of which I can do an awesome rendition :) Bless
