The Old Lady

In a building across the street, She sits by the window, Day in, day out. Always by her lonesome self, She waves at people As they walk by, Whether they see her or not. Today, She waves at me, I smile And wave, She smiled back at me. It was one of The saddest smiles I’ve ever seen.
