The Old Knight and Firebreath Part Two

He took his sword from its sheath He felt the ground shaking underneath He asked god for his help And made one last yelp Curse you, you foul beast You have killed from west to east Today I will restore my name Killing you will bring me fame The dragon heard the man's cry But Firebreath is smart and sly He had learned the human tongue Hearing the knight made him overstrung I have killed many that is true I conquered the earth and the blue But why should that be considered wrong I should rule for I am strong The knight was amazed after hearing his voice So he thought to himself: let’s give him a choice Leave this land and go far away For I will kill you if you stay The dragon burst out into laughter And started speaking again after You, a petty old blind man Don’t speak like you have a plan I will tell you now, human See through your delusion I no longer kill for sport You can still leave and abort I have lost my little one He was my one and only son What’s a king without an heir I have lost all interest I swear Mighty dragon, you seem wise But I see through your lies Even if you did speak the truth You’re the one who took my youth Grave crimes you have committed All of honor you have omitted Only one way you can repent If what you say is what you meant Fall by my sword On your own accord I will do the same After clearing my name The cunning dragon took the knife And acted like he took his own life The knight upon hearing this Was filled with joy and bliss Unfortunately he got too excited And with his friends he was united But in his mind his name was cleared Thus death he no longer feared The dragon saw the man die So he decided to fly up high With a sigh he went up to the sky But then suddenly began to cry He thought about his son one last time Who should’ve now been in his prime I know you killed him, sad old man Let’s end this just as how it began The dragon breathed as much fire as he could You couldn’t do the same with all the earth’s wood It made the dragon tired and weak And finally got the death he did seek
