The Old Fj

Standing up in the back seat Out with my family complete Just seeing over my father’s shoulder Being 8 or 9 years no older Seeing Dad use the hand signalled turns And changing gears on the tree without concern That FJ was there during my childhood Family trips in the country being as fun as it should Those days I remember in sunshine No need for gadgets just the world outside in sunshine It may not have been the latest car model But it got us to where we wanted to go so well. © Paul Warren Poetry
