The Old Days
I m reminded of a simpler time
When televisions were black and white
and Messages were written down
IM was used as a pronoun
When a website was where a spider lived
And a byte was what a dog would give
The net was something to play volleyball
And a cell had padded walls.
A mouse pad was a rodents house
and phishing meant you were catching trout.
A boot was something that you wore outside
and an old car was your hard drive.
Hardware meant a hammer place
Memory was your brain's domain
Software was something named Tupper
And Spam was what you had for supper.
Windows were things that let the air come in
and only hospitals had operating systems.
Program was something on your old tv
And no one had anything named a pc
Yes these days many things have changed
But one thing remains the same
When our kids begin to get older
These words will be gone and then they'll start over!
