The Nine Million Dollar Bowl
The Nine Million Dollar Bowl
By Elton Camp
This account may seem fantastic, but it’s true
It’s just astonishing what some people will do
The small, red bowl is called a work of art
I’ve seen just as good selling at Wal-Mart
The bidding war, a ceramics deal has won
He paid a lot too much when it was done
Nine million dollars is the amount he bid
The bowl’s owner must be glad to be rid
A bowl that old could easily crumble away
If he made use of it for even a single day
Who’d dare to use it for soup or cereal
It might not be strong enough material
Pink and blue flowers on a red background
Some bowl lover most surely must astound
But I think a second look he should’ve taken
And avoid a purchase very much mistaken
