The Night's Shade
Darkness spreads out like a blanket,
Twilight wears a varied jacket,
The moon and the stars are laid out,
Like a blanket, darkness spreads out.
Light is shrouded, darkness pervades,
The moon comes out through the floodgates,
The night sheet is dazzling crowded,
Darkness pervades, light is shrouded.
The night is cold, silence sweeps through,
Nothing is left to attend to,
The sky is a joy to behold,
Silence sweeps through, the night is cold.
Clouds move in their forms and patterns,
Seasons are the sculptor's lanterns,
Nature gives everything to prove,
In their forms and patterns, clouds move.
