The Night's Heat - For My Muse

The night's heat
cannot be contained,
as the sweat drips from my beard,
to trickle in a single stream,
down my chest,
my stomach...
I cannot sleep
in the humid air
that seeps with
frustration,
agitation,
and no compassion
for the sanity,
or sanctity
of my soul.
The warmth
makes my mind wander,
it cannot be contained,
and I am left
to melt within the hot rush
of my own blood,
flowing like lava,
'til I am burned through and through,
by the thought's within my own mind.
And still,
the night's heat,
cannot be contained.
