The Night Time Sky
I watched her staring at the night time sky
And meant to ask if there were reasons why
She looked at stars alone, but I was shy.
She looked toward the North star and, by and by,
Her head nodded and she began to cry.
Ah, the Heavens were made to make men sigh,
And bring back from memory those who die.
As I longed to comfort, but not to pry,
I handed her tissue for tears to dry.
"Is it to the North Star that men say, "Aye"?
"Of course, success depends on that star's lie"
"If I may ask, to whom does your heart tie?"
"For ten long years now for Master Dupry
This beach is where I lie!"
