The Night Owl

Hoot! Hoot! Came the call
In silence I listened,heard
Nothing.
Suddenly, hoot! Hoot!
Came the cry,tree
Branches rustling,wings
Flapping.
Seems the world was in
Oblivion-the absolute
Silence.
Went I to the window
and Looked into the
empty Darkness. As I lay
down,I Knew somewhere
I would Hear that sound
again.

Very beautiful! We have owls here and it takes a sharp eye to catch them inflight as they fly so silently. Blessings

I can hear the owls hooting almost every night here in Wisconsin! I love to listen to them, but I only wish that I could understand what they were saying! This is a wonderful poem, I felt like I could hear the owls as I was reading this! Nicely done!...Thank you for the kind comments, once again!

Thank you dear one,if you listen well, you will hear the message they are trying to pass to us. Yes some say an owl call's somebody's name when it's about to die.
