The Night of the Witch
The Night Of The Witch
Halloween is the time when children
dress up as witches, gouls and ghosties
to celebrate this special yearly event.
But there was a time in 1790 that it was a
different story, in America and other countries
around that time suspected women and men
of practicing black magic using evil chants and
Spells, and were seeked out by townspeople.
A witch was a woman who loved black cats and
used secret potions had bubbling cauldrens and
Flew around on broomsticks and if caught would be
burned at the stake or summarily drowned by the
leaders of the witch hunters, all this was the lead up
To what we now celebrate as Halloween. Children go
around trick or treating, unaware of the folklore
of the flying witch on her broomstick and evil doings
Children now expect that at midnight witches will make
their appearance during the bewitching hour, flying
across the face of the moon on their broomsticks.
Halloween is really meant to be the night of the Witch.
