The Night of Enlightenment- My Testimony
God opened my spiritual eyes
bringing His light to shine
showing to me my sin
leading me over redemption's line
My wife Jean was unwell
rushed to hospital at night
but it was too late
she had lost her fight
On returning to home
God's voice was speaking true
come unto me my son
listening I say I do
For many months gone by
God was pulling my heart
showing gospel truth so great
aiming His precise spiritual dart
That night God pushed me
right to the very brink
but lovingly lifted me again
into His arms forever to drink
(This was 33 years ago when I was converted to Christ, Jean was a Christian but through her witness before she died and God's drawing that night was the night of in John Newton's words ' the great transaction was done. )
