The Night I Lost My Friend
Absence of light is found in the dark night
shadows lurking around waiting for sound
I am lost trying to find my way
back to face the reality of everyday
vision blinded by the moon
day light can not come too soon
air upon my neck while sweat is on my forehead
my instincts say runaway instead
breath in the air as I rapidly breathe
the anxiety of not seeing whats in front
has me wanting to leave
secluded by the darkest hour
Ive lost my strength I have no more power
fighting against the unknown
its time to go back home
feeling like a failure out in the cold
no one around no one to hold
walking fast searching for light
running hoping for sight
of what may be ahead
oh God don't let me be dead
stars are non existent
steady darkness and cold very persistent
the bitter sweet feeling over takes
with the decisions I have to make
Nothing to loose but everything to gain
moving forward forgetting the pain
turning left then right trying to escape
closing my eyes and leaving it up to fate
adrenalin rushing through my body as I'm running out of time
can't look back reclaiming what was once mine
trying to find myself out of the night
finally seeing me in the light
