Notes About The Poem

The Night Door

The night door ajar
Yields a passage, infinite,
If you follow the lines
Streaked along the blank walls

Walls made of nothing
Except what you’ve given
By proposing a space
In your infinite trust

And frozen in light beams
A body, a baby
Magnified, knowing
Like you always wanted
To know.

                Needing bearings
You pray to the baby.
It turns away blindly
Independent of you.

You find yourself back
And the night door restores
Its concealing intention
Its will undeclared.

Disappeared are the light beams.
The place is deserted
Dream creatures have been here
And made off with the life.
