The Night Angel

Six am I heard a knock
Tired as I was I open my eyes
With a glimpse and a sigh
I saw an angel by my side.

He look at me
Nodded his head
Shed a tear
And muttered my 'child'.

In fear, I replied
Father who am I
With a response
He opened his mouth.

Began to declare
You were given a choice
Made in God's image to overcome
Whatever may come.

Take up your cross
Stop trying to be your own boss
Lift your head
Put your hands to the sky

Say a pray
Don't be afraid
Ask God to show you the way
Before you go astray.
