The Night
your soul cries
in the wind
while rain pours
on your heart
morning comes
soon enough
and the night steals
from you no more
someone says
its time to leave
and we go
to a place
where no one
knows your name
I just stand and
watch people walk by
they look away
like i don't exist
running from day
into night
distracting from
truth
putting meaning
on nothing
sharing the street
and fighting
a war that
none of us can see
losing nothing because
because nothing to lose
my dream is my walk
yours is the future
you are my friend but I don't see
the end of the day like you do
your heart cries
when you walk alone
your soul bleeds
when you sleep
your day is coming
so is mine
there is nothing else
we can do
