The Next Frontier
I didn’t know what taffy was
until you showed me.
I hadn’t been to Lake Mary
until you took me.
Last Christmas we went to Clifton Mill
to see the lights,
it was cold
and I in my thin British coat.
You took me to the Corn Festival
with its classy hog racing event.
Then we settled a land
between two great rivers,
a sacred place
we called: The Close.
