THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT YOU

The next morning the sun is up
And you are not with me
I know these days are all going to be depressing
Maybe the sunshine today will give
Me some of you back into my life
I guess maybe I didn't say I love you enough
Perhaps I was trying to act tough
Or maybe it was just hard to say that stuff
I know deep down you are gone
And tomorrow will be just another day to mourn
I guess the only thing I can hope for you
Is to come into my dreams
I would hope you would show up in all our happy scenes
Sometimes I know it will be hard to smile
But I know seeing you in my dreams would be worthwhile
You were always one of my special gifts
Maybe without you, I wouldn't exist
But I know the next day without you
It will always be hard to get through
