The News These Day's

Where have all the feel good stories gone
I can't remember, it's been so long,
I hate to turn on and watch the news
I just walk away, with a case of the blues

Look, Joe Paterno just got the ax
cops just busted a guy for selling kids crack,
sexual harassment allegations, against Herman Cain
Mr. Rick Perry, looses train of thought again

Dr. Murray found guilty by a jury of his peers
a 7 year old dies, a community is in tears,
Berlusconi of Italy finally goes down
a cure for our economy, not easily found

I'd like to see a story, about a child being saved
instead of a story about them being slaves,
or a story of a pup, pulled from a drain
or a cure for someone in serious pain

Or two campaigners, with something nice to say
instead of finding skeletons any which way,
But I guess I'll just stop watching the news
and go through life with my own quirky views.

I haven't watch tv for a year, and for 12 years, history, discovery and AMC. got to filter that stuff out.

I don't like to watch the news so I am usually out of touch with the latest happenings but sometimes I do catch an item here and there..Some of these I had heard about..I like my home to be pleasant..I watched the sentencing of the Dr. of Michael Jackson this morn or maybe I should say part of it..I wish that the news could have a segment of good things happening so that our youth could see people doing good..Thanks for your kind review of my work..Sara

Well put ansd I think you've got alot of company where your thoughts and views are concerned on this subject. Politicians bad mouth each other instead of touting their own accomplishments ... mostly because they don't have many and I read according to the polls.... mudslinging works opposed to peaceable and decent methods... haha ... go figure, right? When some person of questionable reputation is dredged up from twenty years ago to sling some alleged mud.... tells me the opposing party is scared!
