The New Organist

She entered the dark church, anxious – to practise the organ. In the far corner a still small light flickered – fragile, but reassuring Presence – a point that filled the whole place; a focus to feel safe as she felt for the main switch. A sign of Christ alive in the dark. Token of his risen Presence. Whenever she came she felt assured alone to enter dark holy space.
