The Never-Ending Struggle

I saw the power of the infernal
As I stood up on the top of the mountain
Having fought my way through the jungle
Of lost and broken dreams
The minutes were like years
As time powered on forever
And even though I crested the mountain
There seemed so long to go

But I could not begin again
As I would never find my way back
To where I had been before
I despair of what could have been
So I harken to the future
And know that the struggle will continue
The blustery wind and pelting rain
Are always in my face.
