Author's Notes: "The Never Will," is a Prose thought-piece I put together as both a conscious and an unconscious aspect of our everyday life and as a part of our inner psyche as human beings. My purpose with this poem is to give the reader something to think about next time he or she utters "never will" in conversation or in an emotional outburst of anger or sadness. Expressions like "never will" form part of our greater mosaic of human interaction, emotions, and thought. My purpose here is to shine a light on this particular expression and how it may be viewed and used as part of our human discourse. When we use it and how we use it, is, of course, our own choice. But will its force of finality and negation as part of our human experience be part of our continued experience when all of us one day exit from the mortal bounds of existence on this Earth plane? Time will tell, but I'm sure that only God can make that decision. Enjoy the read and think about it!! (Gary Bateman - May 8, 2015) (Lyric)

The Never Will
The “never will” is sometimes . . .
left alone;
and the never said . . . never happened;
and so who shall ever question?
The “never will” can be:
the never did,
the never can,
the never could,
the never have,
the never had,
the never would,
the never would have had,
the never shall,
the never shall have,
and the never shall have had . . .
(with all of its grammatical bliss).
The “never will” emotes
a determination—
and a pulse and a force of
masterful and demonstrative negation;
sometimes never to be really and fully understood.
Our lifetime is spent with the “never will”
as part of our inner psyche
and as . . .
a daily aspect of one’s Cosmic DNA.
It lurks as our constant companion,
. . . im Gegenteil . . .
to the “always will” which means it always will.
It will follow us too on our eventual Soul Path
to that Great Beyond . . .
But only God can make that decision.
