The Necessity of Verse

You may be
   a free market person - a libertarian
You mat be a socialist of some kind
You may be hard at work
You may be looking for employment
You may be rich
You may be poor
You may be a Moslem, Jew, Christian
Confucian, Buddhist
or one of the multiple creeds in the world
Whatever you are
I think you should read some verse
My late father said it teaches you how to feel
Well, I guess he was right
So pick up a book of verse
or go on line to a poetry web site
Or better yet
write some of your own verse
Yes better yet....
Peace to all readers of these words

Well done Matthew, poetry is important for people who enjoys life. But not very many love poetry. It was composed at school as a task in Italy about hundred years ago. Although that was sometimes ridicolous, now people is not even able to write a letter, imagine a poem!

Something so simple as the reading of written words can unite people from many different backgrounds. Everyone has experienced emotion, no matter who you are. So we should be able to relate through our poetry.... Yes, verse is necessary, Matthew. I don't know where I would be without it. You have written a great one here! I enjoyed it so much!

Hi Matt, my life would be such a bore, if it was not for the necessity of verse. Any kind of verse will do for me.. It is healthy for the soul... Always Linda
