The Name of a Man

Swartz, I love that take on it. That’s fantastic, if that is how my poem made you think. You are a hero to those who love you, eg. your daughter, your family, your friends. If you are a villain, you are a Vanilla Villain .... no dark fiend. I get it though. None of us are pure as the driven snow. We all have our dark sides. Some, darker than others. This is what was going through my mind when I wrote that poem, see below.

It was in a way my response to some Revelations debate from the good book about 666 the name of a man. The poem in a way to me, is kind of close to what you are saying, but I guess what I am trying to express in that poem, is that darkness is in man, it is here already overtaking us, causing destruction and fighting the Light in us. No one knows the name of that man, as it is in all of us (the dark), and if there is one man, it is symbolic and it is through the collective unconscious of humanity.

The Light is in all of us, as well and we are all children in that sense. If “God” is meant to be “asexual”, then the relevance of the man and woman towards the end of the video “uniting” as one, fits perfectly with Jung’s theory the animus (as the unconscious masculine side of a woman) and the anima (as the unconscious feminine side of a man) being “God”, in that they each transcend the personal psyche. It seems appropriate then that they produce a child of Light, who is the embodiment of something pure that could save the world, if the dark is indeed eradicated. No one knows the name of that child, but they could draw analogy with Jesus, and in that respect, .... “The Name of a Man”.

The title of the poem is two sided, does it relate to the name of a man (666) or the name of the one everyone is expecting as the Saviour. For the purpose of my poem and story, are the eyes at the end of the video those of “God” or those of the “Saviour” (Messiah), or the other darker entity, who shall remain unnamed.... my poem is multilayered and complex. These are purely my thoughts, alone. People will interpret it as they will. No one has the answers, truthfully, until we are fully presented with them in the moment they arrive fully in the flesh in front of us ....and the true facts are in front us. People and different cultures, have their own beliefs and faiths, that they will either firmly stand by and follow through on, or not - (athiests, agnostics, believers in one way or any). These are my thoughts on the subject, as clearly as I can express them at this point in time - it is a guarantee they will change as I move forward in life, facts present.I hold faith in the Logos.

That's very kind of you to say Justin. We all write from the Higher Self, do we not? I've said this before in a comment on another poem, I think sometimes, this may be some kind of automatic writing. The artist who created this video, certainly is coming from the same place as me. We all have "I Am" inside us somewhere, that is the truth of who we really are; it also contains The Key. Whatever you do you do it well

I wouldn't go so far as to say 'beauty personified', but I have the need to write. Sometimes the best written stories come from swimming in the muck and finding your ugly. Thank you Agt Schmidt.
