The Mutter of the Soul

she roams through the ether with uncontained purpose she listens as a mother would for the sound of her new born waking swirling winds of strife begin to shudder her consciousness she surrenders to the pleading of a salty meditation a murky grey eclipse of self a breathless weight of vacant thought she proposes a gift from deep within her sense the self-inflicted adversary emerges he covets, masked in pride and intention her sucklings eagerly guzzle the curd of vanity sadly, she guides them towards the abyss chosen she is left with residue of the delusion she cradles them back to safe slumber they remember not the whisper of hope dissipates in rejection at her feet her tide must return alone she will be back for her children another day

I like your style, very light and ethereal. You trace an abstract mood with precision. Please keep writing.

Another gorgeous and graceful poem. You have a gift for words and expression... never doubt that gift! What you create has a purpose- whether you see it or not. It is not necessarily our place to know where our creations will land, only that we bring them out into the world where they may spread their wings, take flight, and reach their destinations. Stay encouraged & keep writing!

You have an exalted manner of expression that I deem really quite superb. I was taken with such lines as “a breathless weight of vacant thought“ I should have been pleased to write that.

Mark, thank you so much! I was having one of those struggling moments last evening when you start to convince yourself that your words have no purpose. I went to bed and when I woke up, your kindness was the first thing that I read. What a beautiful feeling knowing that I now keep company with such a great group of people! Have a wonderful day! Blessings!
