The Music of Life and a Man
there is harmony in earth a beauty and tone
the silver sound of song the droning chants of man
the humming of a humming bird sipping dew
the rumble of a bumble bee buzzing by
the rasping of young blue jays complaining
now that their mother has left them alone
I listen to the whispering of the leaves
the crash and roll of rain and winds
the barking of the seals on rocks near the sea
finally there is the flowing composition of man
I am drawn to Paul Winter’s Earth Mass, his hymns
composed for sea mammals to help them feel at ease
I love his music the nature of its sound
his deep sense of the beauty and spirituality
in the journeys of nature, the journeys of man
his music of the canyon and the whale’s loving song
