The Muse Returns

After having been
gone
      for a long stretch 
of years
      The Muse finally came
home
        Yes - you can see 
that we will gain knowledge aand delight
from this return
     The power of light
shines brighter now
    and the urge to create 
deepens in all of us
     Shining sun - we 
know now
      that you will glow 
brightly throughout the long, long winter
     The muse has found 
a lover
  and moonlight 
accentuates
   the deep, dark shadows
which form patterns 
      on the cool, cool 
earth

Andrea Dietrich August 23, 2012 at 10:23 PM It's interesting how you refer to "we" in this poem instead of to yourself just as "I" as if you are representing many poets or perhaps it is a poem meant for all mankind. Glad to see this "oldie" of yours. I know there must be many poems of yours I have not ever seen.
