The Mother Tree

The Mother Tree

Connie Marcum Wong a lady who graced us like warm trade winds in “A Quiet Place.” A lady who loved “The Hint of Autumn” even in a tropical paradise. A lady who reveled in “Lavender Skies” and “Cosmic Creations” and through “Star Ships” saw the “Enchanted Earth” always looking up to see the fullness of the shining “Night Light” through her tears.

Connie, whose name means steadfast, was a steadfast presence, a lady of faith even in unimaginable grief, who has stepped into the eternal “Sunrays Warmth” enfolded in “Your Tender Loving Embrace.” Her constant supportive heart vanquished darkness – this lady who inspired the Aloha spirit, deeply loved her husband, her family, poetry, Chopin, the stars, and her friends and we were “Starstruck” at her beauty and grace. She was “The Mother Tree” now rejoicing with the “Morning Star” in “Heaven’s Realms” of glory.

Her “Starlight” will never fade – a north star on horseback! Godspeed dear friend on your “Heavenly Ride.”

Mahalo Lord for the gift of Connie.

"She was “The Mother Tree” now rejoicing with the “Morning Star” in “Heaven’s Realms” of glory"....... So beautifully put, dear Sam ! You have high lighted all the qualities that have endeared her to all fellow poets and everyone with whom she came into contact. May her spirit rejoice seeing this genuine flow of sentiments. Indeed she was "the mother tree." All of us who knew her, and her writing, were the direct beneficiaries of her protective limbs, shade from the heat and life giving inspiration. We were truly blessed to have known her. Andrea has given us such a wonderful way to express our love for and friendship with Connie. It has been a wonderful experience seeing all of the tributes to her. Like you I am sure she is "rejoicing" as she sees these beautiful tributes - each one as unique and creative as Connie herself. Thank you dear friend. Blessings of joy to you.

Sally, you have put it so well - "her poetic voice enhanced life," all of our lives. She always added to the joy of life with her inspiring messages. Thank you for your message. You have affirmed my intention to honor her through her words. She was so talented but always took time to encourage the poetic gifts in others. What a gift. What a legacy - an example to guide us. Thank you for your beautiful message. In my prayers. Sending you prayers on wings of comfort. Hugs.
