The Most Precious Gift Comes From Love
At Christmastime we expect many presents,
it's a greed instilled in our human nature so unwise;
and the more we get from others, the less
we appreciate the meaning behind it,
but any gift given is valued by kindness, not price,
afterwards each one is stashed in a dark closet!
Many kids tonight will be waiting anxiously,
but Santa won't come down their chimney
as silently and quickly as he would like to be;
no gifts will be found there in great expectancy,
and they'll be doubting his integrity
by seeing their wishes being shattered:
as those snowflakes become a view so adored
by the lucky ones gathered around their tall Christmas Tree!
Come down, Santa, come down...this silence needs your Ho! Ho!
and they will cheer and feel so special:
when their biggest thrill is a presence so cheerful;
hurry, Santa, hurry and tell them you aren't another North Pole' fable,
but the oldest man dressed in red with great stories to tell...
before you hop in your sleight and quickly go!
Hush ,children, hush...Santa will surprise you all,
he's carrying his heavy sack by tripping on the floor;
don't make believe you are sleeping and snore:
he'll tell you that the most precious gift comes from love!
