The Moon
Some say it’s a cause for metamorphosis
Science says it affects the many tides
It hangs, so lovely, like a night light, glowing
A beautiful reminder of our true size.
We are not the giants we think we all are.
We are but allotted this space, for a time.
Gaze upon the moon, this night and realize
It is inspiration for love, music and rhyme.
For if we went without its presence
Darkness would be all that we would see
A void, there in the sky, where it once was
Leaves us uninspired, immersed in misery.
However, it is there for all of us to admire
Look to it for its beauty, stare in the night
Hopefully, you, too, will become inspired
To pick up your pen and proceed to write.
