The Monkey On My Back
I've
lived
the
Class
A
lifestyle
for
some
25
long
years,
I've
got
the
scars
to
prove
it
and
the
bloodshot
eyes
from
tears,
I
spend
my
days
with
no
one
though
I'm
not
alone
I'd
say,
There's
a
comrade
who's
behind
me
and
he's
never
far
away,
He's
always
there
reminding
me
and
never
cuts
no
slack,
Wont
you
let
me
introduce
you
to
the
monkey
on
my
back,
We
two
have
been
inseperable
since
I
got
on
the
gear,
If
I'm
honest
cant
imagine
life
without
my
monkey
near,
He's
the
only
source
of
comfort
I
seek
out
when
days
are
grim,
The
one
that
I
depend
upon
best
friends
now
me
and
him,
When
there's
not
a
single
soul
this
life
of
mine
with
whom
to
share,
Guaranteed
I'll
turn
around
to
find
my
monkey
friend
is
there,
But
this
morning
I
awoke
to
seek
a
better
life
for
me,
And
that
means
parting
company
my
monkey
friend
and
me,
Oh
be
sure
he'll
do
his
utmost
to
convince
me
(there's
no
doubt),
That
I'll
crumble
soon
as
he's
not
there
and
cannot
live
without,
His
sweet
narcotic
kisses
that
do
get
me
through
the
night,
Its
true
when
things
aren't
great
he
will
appear
and
make them
right,
But
he's
blinded
me
for
long
enough
the
truth
now
I
do
see,
It's
time
to
build
my
strength
and
from
my
monkey
friend
break
free,
So
before
you
do
embark
on
life
on
Heroin
or
Crack,
Be
careful
cause
you'll
end
up
with
a
monkey
on
your
back.
