The Moments Collected In Memory
Writing this in hopes that I might fashion a connection
A connection with my dreams
And through my dreams, a recollection
Of the beauty of specific moments
That have become part of my DNA yet
Are as far removed as Saturn drifting below the horizon
I stare at my digits in order to count
Similar to the days when fine motor skills and mathematics were new
The visage of now and then flows with precision
The power of the elements singes the edges of neurons
Mitosis makes us older
Only with the acceptance of such an occurrence
Will there be peace
However difficult
Whilst melding a crash course concerning the intention of time
Into a singularity of moments of life
Which thereby splinters into multiple
Units of singularly significant events
Without reason or sequential order
The mind reels in attempt to filter
Continuously, indefinitely
This dilemma
This beautiful life
I prefer to return to the dream state
Where
To me,
Is the spot where the ephemeral membrane lining
Creates thought and life
Regardless
I have to awaken
To this world that I know exists
And find not only the treasures waiting in subterfuge
But the ones already found
If only in memory
