The Moment
The moment lingered
When I saw daybreak
In the eastern cloudy sky
Gold, soft yellow, red surprise
The moment lingered
When up above charcoal clouds
Moved slightly revealing a waning gibbous moon
Looking down darkness engulfed the woods
Those moments lingered
While breakfast was prepared
Thoughts of quiet beauty filled the air
Birds flew in to feed from seeds
Then in a flash
A yellow light illuminated darkness through the trees
A new day born in a moment
A whole period of time just for us to live
