The Mockingbird

The mockingbird, oh so still
Watching from a tree so quiet.
As I sit watching from the hill
Everything else seems so nil.

He can only stay so long
As he begins to fly away
I can hear him chirp in song
Oh how I wish that he could stay.

If only I was a mockingbird
Maybe I could leave as fast
And maybe when I said the word
I could be gone just like him from my nest!

Thanks!!! So so much, means so much to me! I’ve never entered contests until recently because I was thinking my writing wasn’t too good but it means so much to hear that! Thank you from the bottom of my heart
