The Mine
The church bells tolled
They raised their hands to Heaven
'Praise God and all His miracles
Voices raised in jubilation
Silently, we waited
Twelve, soon we'd see
Their faces to behold
Safe and sound, for all to see
An eternity, we waited
It'd be worth it in the end
For after all the sleepless hours
We'd finally see our friends
But with a beat of a heart
All our hopes were shattered
In the space of a sigh
We had lost what had mattered
How could it be?
We all asked in rage
Empty arms and empty hearts
Made emptier with hate
We placed our faith
With you men from the mines
We wanted miracles
Not excuses and lies
Twelve, we were promised
And only one recieved
Why did it happened?
How could it be?
We searched for our loved ones
Now, it's answers we hope to find
When will someone tell us
What happened down in the mine?
