The Mind Castle

I look around for beauty trying to step out locked in a castle castle I built of my mind with ice to stop the flowing of emotions I had to hide my failures somewhere deep I built a castle in the oceans feet a castle of ice hoping it will melt with the warmth of someone bright but came none a soul that could melt through the thick castle of ice So my mind is stuck forever in ice in hopes of melting through purpose of life

I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I like how the word 'ice' repeats to enhance the sense of being stuck. I also like how the beginning and the end have a slender hope, stepping out to look for beauty, and a hope that the ice castle melts (like ice-cream!).I like how this poem creates the feeling of being stuck, yet hopeful :)
