The Midnight Hour

His hand lay on the window pane gazing out at the midnight rain his pensive stare and memories of a time on an isle of darkened seas he knew her then , her olive skin out from the rain to rest at an inn they had food and wine and spoke of schemes then walked into darkness to pursue their dreams and they shared it in the moonlight with the stars shining bright her black tresses curled and unfurled as they lay on the beach to sink into sleep with their arms within reach he woke up alone she was no where in sight he sought her out in the course of the night his watch ticked off the midnight hour his feelings spent as all went sour she was never found and he recalled that the mystery of Midnight took his love away perchance a time will come someday that Midnight will be a talisman and he will see his love again Contest
