The Midnight Flight

Crossing on high
The winter sky
A lone goose cries

The stars shine bright
And hung nearby
A Quarter moon

I wonder why
Where does it fly?
No mate in sight

Ahhh . . . Methinks the lone goose cries because its mate is lost. I'n hearing a mournful cry in the night.
