The Midnight Crown

The silent night walks like a freighted man in boots, and penetrates the head of the living dead while they lay down in silence to sleep. Not a sound could be heard except for the voices of the chorus that penetrates the world. I sat up quietly in the chair taking a doze here and there with my mind alert and my memory connected to the world. I have never experienced these strange feelings before it was like destiny was standing behind the door and demons were scattered all over the shore. The headless ones are coming in with basket loaded with spice and plenty of cash to roll the dice. Big boats anchored on the shore with visitors galore waiting for the night to break so that they can go through the big gate. And on the other side of the shore the military is going from door to door breaking down barricade looking for the alligator perpetrators. I listen to the chorus rebuking the intruders that are secretly entering the property. The chorus can hear but they cannot see and so they have to adopt the blind man’s strategy to recognize their vision less identity, they are the midnight cops giving everything they have got to keep the people safe. I glide through the sky on a midnight roller coaster clearing bushes, exposing trenches and landing on rigid fences. I saw them as clear as daylight walking in the mother woman balm yard, with hundreds of candles set in peculiar circle and the balm yard women and men dressed in red white and blue head wrap and long gowns flowing on the ground. They danced around the circle as they try to invoke the spirit of the dead. Some of them went into a trance and did not wake up until dawn. I continue my midnight journey through the sky watching innocent people as they die; they were gunned down at midnight in the street and sound of bullets erupted through the town. Screams and shouts mounted from the house top and a mother holding her frock trying to pull her dead son’s body from the rocks; they laid on the bear ground in the street waiting for daylight to come. I glide through the sky and watch the rich man as he dies, his wife was having an affair with his closest friend that was so dear and with a broken heart he fetch his pistol and fire it straight through his fragile heart. I wish if I could find that wimp and sober him with knowledge but my hands could not reach him we were too far away. And so the midnight crown continues its journey around the town viewing mankind’s secrets. I spot a bright light from the distance and I bend over to get a better view of it, and the minute my eyes connect with it I knew that the doom days has finally come to an end and mercy is standing on the bend looking straight at me. Ten ships rolled in with lights lit up all around it and good music to compliment the creative sounds. They found a comfortable place to dock while daylight opens its frock. Thousand of them swarm the shore and the heavens open its door; they set up big umbrella on the beach with massage therapist and suntan artist. They make millions a day with their natural artistic skills parachutes and daffodils and so the midnight crown disappeared from the town and the spirit of fear slowly evaporate from the stagnant atmosphere. I picked up my luggage and walked through the door and my life came alive in the new world.
