The Memory Of Your Love
The stars were freshly in the sky
Which has still yet to turn black
As I walk back into the house
When a memory came rushing back
As I stood there in the doorway
I smiled as a tear rolled down my face
I have seen or thought of you in years
I’m glad your memory I couldn’t erase
After we decided to get a divorce
I was hurt and thought of you was bad
Through the years my heart was healed
And I only remember the good we had
The hardest thing I ever did in life
Was sign those papers when I loved you
But I knew all the anger and hurt
Did leave many options of what to do
I wish I could say these words to you
But you’re gone your time here is through
If you’re up there on a cloud in heaven
I hope you know I never stopped loving you
