The Melody In Me
any kind of tempo
fast or slow
just give me the melody
and watch me go
as I begin to rhythmically speak
while keeping the beat
you start to tap your feet
as I proceed
to project
lifting my voice
rendering this beautiful noise
melodies of song
melodies of soul
neither one you can control
as the powerful tune
fills the room
the people are moved
as I feel the rhythm intensify
hitting the bridge
and reaching a high
I emote
telling my story in lyrics
sharing my spirit
to the beat of a drum
the tickling of black and white keys
expressing myself in melody
