The Mello Story
Fear; is like a crippling disease that slowly destroys its victims from the inside out.
And it controls ninety percent of the human population. It spreads like the plague, being
used as a means of control and power. Take a look at any religion in existence for
example; because they fear eternal damnation, the followers will change their whole lives
just to please something or someone. Is our life really that pitiful? Must we stumble upon
our own fear and never reach the top of the mountain? But I guess I don’t really have any
room to talk, because like you, I am a prisoner of my own fear. The shackles of oppression
have dug so deep into the flesh of my arms that you can feel my heartbeat, steady in the
cold metal. Pulsating as one, for my fear lies within my heart. Because of this fear I
cannot trust a soul, not even my own. I can hardly trust myself to use my birth-given name
within these pages; therefore I will be called “Mello”. I hope that these pages will guide
you, help you realize your fears, and overcome them. Hopefully you will learn the first
time, and not end up like I did.
