The Master Plan

The Master Plan A year has gone past As I take my last My last what, I hear you say My last day, I sit and pray Trying to retrieve any happy thoughts Oh wait there, I used to love my mother’s freshly cut bread toast Now all has gone, leaving an empty throne A place which used to be my home Where once I did stand tall But inside, I was always feeling small Puny, pathetic, a miserable man That once upon a time tried to hold together the clan Now it’s time to lie down, pills in my hand Am I working to the master plan? What will I miss? I hear you say The TV, Radio, Work, in-laws, no way!! Possibly, The birds tweeting good morning To the sound of the ex-wife yawning Only god knows where I will end up As I pull the duvet cover up What is the master plan? Hopefully god is not a con-man! Now, the year has finally passed Here, I take my last…

Great poem my friend.. I LOVE A GOOD PLAN. Thus I once planned to live my life with the certainty that I'd ever make 30. Such wild years.. Now at age 63 , I LOOK BACK AND WONDER WHAT/WHO PUT THAT IDEA IN MY HEAD. On to the next plan-- to live forever!!
