The Mask

People see the Mask
but not the pain and
the broken heart
       inside.

People see the Mask
of riches and success
but not the beauty
          within.

People see the Mask
they don't see the
spirit that's trapped.

People see the Mask
they don't see the
soul that hope's for
        freedom.

God doesn't see the
           Mask
but See's the child
within that wants
freedom and love.

Dedicated to Lily a Orphin girl that passed away.

when I wrote this poem I was thinking how we put masks on to protect us but people see the mask but not the child and that God see,s who we really are. priz

a powerful write, it is true God loves us for who we are just the way we are, we dont have to wear any mask we dont have to try to be someone we are not, he knows who we are every fine detail and still loves us, well written God bless you

I like the thoughts behind your poem. We all have that child that is hurt or whatever trapped within. Sara
