The March of Pandemic Life

And so it is a new year An ending and beginning Is it much different from the last? Months of discovery, travel, experience Living in different moments, pandemic, freedom, worry, joy And to flip from this past to the now I await this with interest, intrigued as to what comes It is a little like turning a corner Not being sure what is there, but so far it feels okay Some things remain a constant, health, new love, excitement, discovery Here in a quiet place, a little away from the maddening crowd Watching the virgin year unfold, blossom, yet unhealed I confess a safeness, perhaps selfishness Able to reach out and touch the world when I choose Food selected, maybe a few safe people to meet Then withdrawn reach, back to my shared shell, a cocoon And so as the world races past to furrow a season I can only hope a good ending to this new year Jan 2022
