The Man Who Was Whole

on your life's journey
have you sensed a presence near
something you just couldn't see
and suddenly you knew no fear...

I met a man on the road
who could laugh and cry
and yet he bore his load
never asking the reasons why
when with him you just knew
something you couldn’t see
he would always stand by you
as if it was his destiny

ever since his birth
born on the street
he knew his worth
it was in his heartbeat

he had tales to tell
of chance and romance
how he rose and fell
through his life’s dance
the lines from his eyes
shaped by smiles and tears
said there was no disguise
he had lived his years

ever since his birth
born on the street
he knew his worth
it was in his heartbeat

this man just had soul
beating in his heart
a man who was whole
and when we had to part
he said “just love believin
and believe in what love brings,
there’s no time for grievin
if your heart truly sings”

ever since his birth
born on the street
he knew his worth
it was in his heartbeat

he said “just love believin
and believe in what love brings,
there’s no time for grievin
if your heart truly sings”

I love the way you tell a good story, with the repetitive lines to give it valor, a winner in my book, have a great day :)

Thanks for your feedback. If you have SoundCloud, it's been put to music (Larcs Lyrics playlist) bit of a thrill to hear it as a song cheers LL
