The Man Who Stole the World

I've fallen from the stars Crash-landed on this planet I'd seen it from afar And thought that it was ****. My spaceship though was broken Now I'm stuck on hell A thousand language spoken Yet none of them could help. Are all Earthlings greedy? I would often ask The rich from the needy But don't get bought to task. So I drifted for a while Breezed from town to town I grifted wore a smile Leave my marks without a frown. I sickly made my millions I'd tread on you upon my way Quickly trade to billions Not one debt did I pay. No-one saw me coming I moved just like a ghost They won't catch me running I headed for the coast. I'll cut off all my hair Or wear a beard upon my face They hunt me everywhere But when they're near off I race. And now I have your money It's as if I stole the world I'm not trying to be funny It's you not me who sold the world. And now I'm Lord of Earth But I still just wanna go home In future it's a wide berth When I feel I gotta roam. I got my spaceship mended It's almost as good as new Your money I can't spend it So I'll send it back to you. No-one saw that coming Their stuff back in the post Now I'm left with nothing But that's how I like it most.
