The Man In White
A woman who was soon to be married.
Was thinking of her dad, who now lived in heaven.
If only he was here to give me away.
Instead she walked alone, down the aisle that special day.
After the ceremony, a little boy asked
who the man was that walked with her? He wore white not black?
He stood with tears falling down his face.
When preecher asked who gives this child away?
He kissed you on your cheek before sitting down.
He smiled the entire time
He looked very proud.
The bride knelt down to thank the little boy.
For making that day even more special.
He handed her a note that read daddys girl.
Always to this day.
Forever and ever.
She asked the band to play her favorite song.
Then danced with the man who was there all along.
